A anchor should always ask questions in the middle of the presentation so as to help the spectators stay active and due to this they can also test themselves whether they agreed the presented material or not. Questioning inquiries also give rise to many ideas from the audience that could be beneficial for the cause upon which the presentation is based. Keep listeners active and involved with rhetorical questions. Ask for a show of hands to get each listener thinking. The response will also give you a quick era of audience attention.

Some opening techniques for presentation

Opening of a presentation usually takes about 5 minutes. It makes the audience decide whether a presentation will be boring or interesting.

Furthermore, opening of a presentation generally has four components that can be used:

a.      Greeting/Intro- Audience wants to feel welcomed and a greeting with a very brief self-introduction would do it nicely.

b.     Quote Without wasting any time, a presenter should start off with his/her presentation by using an appropriate quote that sets the mood of the audience.

c.     A Promise- Promising the audience in the beginning of a presentation to deliver information they are actually waiting for will always help keep them sit the whole time.

d.      Mystery- Creating mystery in the beginning of a presentation is beneficial for it. For example, framing a mystical problem that demands a solution will attract those people from the audience who like problem solving and challenges.

Introduction

Techniques for keeping and gaining attention of audience

One of the most important challenges for a presenter is first grabbing and then keeping the attention of an audience. If the presenter is not able to do this, the presentation might not succeed, no matter how valuable the content might is. When a presenter is not confident of himself the slightly looks over the crowd before having to step in, panic tends to overwhelm. This is a familiar feeling for many. we must remember here that grabbing their attention  for a short time  is not enough. We must hold their attention during the entire length of our presentation. Many speakers try to grab attention in numerous ways, e.g. by telling the latest joke or by making funny entry. This can grab attention but does not establish a good relation with audience as  after some time people might wander away or fall off.

Here i am explaining nine main techniques and some opening techniques for gaining and keeping attention of audience.
